June–July 2026

What's new

New ways to plan harvests, support volunteers, and tell the story of your impact.

July updates

July 17, 2026

Equipment management

  • Equipment detail pages now show upcoming bookings and filterable usage history.
  • The equipment list includes a calendar for reviewing equipment use by day.
  • Admin users can duplicate equipment and choose which details, photos, and contacts to copy.
  • Leaders and admin users can book equipment with pickup and return times and check availability before saving.

People search and email actions

  • User admins can search for people from the People page, including inactive people and other results they are allowed to access.
  • Search results open either a full profile or a contact card, depending on the admin user's access.
  • Users can request an email change from their profile after confirming their identity. Their current email keeps working until the new address is verified, and admins can request the change for them.
  • Volunteers and tree owners can see when they are unsubscribed from all emails, and volunteers and admin users can restore email delivery.

Volunteer hour tracking

  • Admin users can define volunteer-hour tasks and default durations in settings.
  • Volunteer hours can be added automatically from submitted harvest reports, reviewed and adjusted, or entered separately.
  • User profiles show volunteer-hour history and totals, and admin users can download volunteer-hour CSVs from stats.

Food rescue markets and vendors

  • Leaders and admin users can manage food rescue markets and vendors, including contacts, market harvest scheduling, and default invitations.
  • Food rescue reports can record rescued weight by vendor and species, show rescue totals, and send post-rescue summaries to harvesters and vendor contacts.

Interested in farmers’ market harvests? This feature isn’t enabled by default, so please reach out and we’ll help your organization get set up.

Value tracking

  • Admin users can add monetary values for a species or a specific variety, including the date each value takes effect.

Harvest planning and reporting

  • Leaders and admin users can add attendees in a harvest report who were not initially registered for the event.
  • Harvest reports can record the total harvested separately from how the harvest was shared and warn when shares exceed the total.
  • Reports make partner deliveries and shared amounts easier to review and fill in.

More improvements

Leader role removal

  • User admins can review a person's tree claims and upcoming events before removing their leader role, and choose whether to release their tree claims.

Admin app access

  • People with admin app access can switch to it directly from the navigation menu in the volunteer app.

Maps

  • Admin app users can choose whether maps are shown by default when pages load.

User history

  • Admin users can filter a user's history by year, month, and attendance state and load activity from earlier years, including events led and co-led.

June updates

June 15, 2026

Harvest planning

  • When leaders create a harvest with no volunteers or zero volunteer spots, the admin app checks that volunteer invitations match before the harvest is published or saved.
  • Seasonal invitation limits can be customized by species, so each crop can use the right signup limit for the season.

Tree scouting and harvest readiness

  • Leaders and admins can add scouting reports with photos, comments, and scouting dates from tree pages.

Harvest list filters

  • Leaders and admin users can filter harvest lists by status, including drafts, upcoming harvests, reports due, completed harvests, unsuccessful harvests, and cancelled harvests.

Tree history filters

  • Admin users can filter tree history by year and activity type.
  • Tree history separates recent activity from key dates and includes harvest requests alongside harvests and scouting reports.
